Pembrokeshire Coast National Park have given permission for a new community of 72 eco homes to be built in Saundersfoot, west Wales.
The development, which is in it's final stages of approval, will be subject to a section 106 agreement. It is understood that Persimmon will transfer 35% of the homes to a local housing provider for rent and shared ownership.
Plans are to create a community of properties which are zero-carbon ready, incorporating a sustainable drainage system with bio-retention areas and rain gardens.
Additional green technologies will include air-source heating pumps, solar panels, and electric car charging points.
Ecological enhancements will be built into the design, for example mitigating impacts on dormouse habitats and ensuring the protection and preservation of existing trees and hedges.
The vision is to create a number of community benefits, including a new Local Equipped Area of Play (LEAP) at the heart of the site, contributions to highway and active travel upgrades, and a dedicated active travel link that connects the site back to Sandy Hill Road.
