Flooding is one of the most severe environmental threats facing the UK today. With the increasing frequency of extreme weather events caused by climate change, surface water flooding in particular has become a growing concern. In response to this challenge, a forward-thinking collaboration between Leeds City Council and Andel, a UK-based environmental company, has led to the pilot deployment of Andel’s award-winning FloodAlert Bollard – an innovative, real-time water level monitoring and flood warning solution that utilises radar sensor technology via LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network).
